Overview
Torii integrates with Personio and syncs the user's email, name, app status, license status, and profile picture.
Prerequisites
Accounts & Permissions
To connect the integration, you need to be a Personio account admin.
Scopes
Under Settings > Integrations > API Credentials > Corresponding API Credentials > Readable employee attributes, whitelist the following Personio attributes so Torii can populate its built-in user fields:
- First name
- Last name

Email (or Business email if the customer uses
company_emailas the email field) - Status
- Hire date
- Termination date
- Position (maps to Job Title in Torii)
- Department
- Supervisor (maps to Manager in Torii)
- Team
- Cost Centers
- Profile picture
Note: If a required attribute is not whitelisted, Personio's API does not return an error — the field simply syncs as empty in Torii.
Integration Process
To connect Personio to Torii, follow these steps:
- Go to Torii's Integrations page and click the Personio tile
- Click Connect

Enter the Client ID & Client Secret
- From Personio, Generate API Credentials and provide the Read permissions
- To generate the client ID and secret, click on the "Generate new credential" button
- Enter the Company Name - Optional for Personio, Required for partners for example TORII_TEST_LTD (UPPER_SNAKE_CASE format)

Click Connect
- Once the Integration is connected and synced, it will display a green checkbox.
Update the User Lifecycle settings
To ensure you get the user lifecycle information in Torii, define Personio as your Human resource management system.
- Under Settings >> User Lifecycle, click on the Edit button to review the options
- Select Personio
Note that In case Personio is your only source for user management, make sure to uncheck
Azure and Google workspace checkboxes - Click Preview changes
- Apply changes
- The users' statuses will be reflected in Torii on the next scheduled sync.

Q&A
Q: What should I enter in the "Account Name" field?
A: The Account Name field lets you connect multiple Personio accounts to Torii. The value can be anything you choose — it is only used to distinguish between your connected accounts. Make sure to use a unique Account Name for each account: connecting a different account with an Account Name that is already in use will overwrite the existing account's data, so choosing distinct names is your responsibility.
