Overview

Torii integrates with Personio and syncs the user's email, name, app status, license status, and profile picture.

 

Prerequisites 

Accounts & Permissions

To connect the integration, you need to be a Personio account admin. 

Scopes

Under Settings > Integrations > API Credentials > Corresponding API Credentials > Readable employee attributes, whitelist the following Personio attributes so Torii can populate its built-in user fields:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email (or Business email if the customer uses company_email as the email field)
  • Status
  • Hire date
  • Termination date
  • Position (maps to Job Title in Torii)
  • Department
  • Supervisor (maps to Manager in Torii)
  • Team
  • Cost Centers
  • Profile picture

Note: If a required attribute is not whitelisted, Personio's API does not return an error — the field simply syncs as empty in Torii.

 

Integration Process

To connect Personio to Torii, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Torii's Integrations page and click the Personio tile
  2. Click Connect
  3. Enter the Client ID & Client Secret
  4. Enter the Company Name - Optional for Personio, Required for partners for example TORII_TEST_LTD (UPPER_SNAKE_CASE format)
  5. Click Connect

  6. Once the Integration is connected and synced, it will display a green checkbox.

Update the User Lifecycle settings

To ensure you get the user lifecycle information in Torii, define Personio as your Human resource management system.

  1. Under Settings >> User Lifecycle, click on the Edit button to review the options
  2. Select Personio
    Note
    that In case Personio is your only source for user management, make sure to uncheck
    Azure and Google workspace checkboxes
  3. Click Preview changes
  4. Apply changes
  5. The users' statuses will be reflected in Torii on the next scheduled sync.

Q&A

Q: What should I enter in the "Account Name" field?

A: The Account Name field lets you connect multiple Personio accounts to Torii. The value can be anything you choose — it is only used to distinguish between your connected accounts. Make sure to use a unique Account Name for each account: connecting a different account with an Account Name that is already in use will overwrite the existing account's data, so choosing distinct names is your responsibility.
