Additional Info
User details
Torii syncs users from both the People table and the Admins table in Deel.
- If a user returns only from the People table, their 'Role' field will be empty in Torii (Deel does not return any information on the user role from their API).
- If a user returns only from the Admins table, their status will always be 'Active', and only the user's email and name will be synced (additional user fields do not exist in the Admins table)..
- If a user appears in both lists, the user's data will be based on the People table, and their 'Role' field will show 'Admin'.
User lifecycle status
An important distinction relevant for using Deel as your user's lifecycle source of truth:
- If a user is only listed under the Admin table, they will be considered past users once they are deleted from that table.
- If a user is only listed under the People table, they will be considered past users once their status is changed to inactive, or if they are removed from that table.
- However, if the user is listed under both the Admin and People tables, they must be removed from both tables (or removed from the Admin table and marked as inactive in the People table) to be considered a past user.
- You can learn more about user lifecycle status here.
Actions
- The people:write scope is required for the "Update Deel user" and "Update Deel user working location" actions.
-
The organizations:write scope is required for the "Create Deel admin" action.
Please note that the "Update Deel user" and "Update Deel user working location" actions only work for user objects retrieved from the People table.
