Overview

Torii integrates with DoiT and syncs:

  • Users, including their roles and status
  • Licenses (one DoiT license per user)
  • You can constantly stay updated with application information from our Integrations Page >> Integration Capabilities button >> Integration Capabilities table.

Requirements

To connect this integration, we require the following:

Accounts & Permissions

  • A DoiT Cloud Intelligence account with access to Users and access, so you can create an API token.
  • API access is included in every DoiT Cloud Intelligence plan, including the free Essentials plan.
  • The API token must belong to an identity whose role has the Users Manager permission. Each DoiT API operation enforces its own permissions, so a token without it cannot read or manage users.

Required keys

  • API Token - a DoiT API token, either a service account API token or a personal API token (see below).

How to Generate the Required Values

Follow these steps to generate the required values. DoiT supports two token types. Use the one that fits your organization:

  • Service account API token - for shared automation that should not depend on one person. It uses the permissions of the service account's role, so make sure that role has the Users Manager permission.
  • Personal API token - tied to your own user. It works, but it grants Torii every permission of your whole role, which is more than Torii needs.

Step 1: Create a service account API token

  1. Sign in to the DoiT console.
  2. Click the gear icon in the top navigation bar, and then select Users and access.
  3. Select Service Accounts from the left-hand menu.
  4. Select the service account whose role has the Users Manager permission.
  5. Click Create API token and copy the token.

Step 1 (alternative): Create a personal API token

  1. Sign in to the DoiT console, click your avatar in the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar, and then select your name from the drop-down menu.
  2. On the API tab, click Create API token and copy the token.

Important
Treat the API token like a password. Store it securely and do not share it in chat or commit it to source control.

How to Connect the Integration

  1. Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
  2. Search for DoiT and click Connect.
  3. Enter the Account Name and the API Token.
  4. Click Connect.

Actions

  • Invite DoiT user - invites a new user by email. First name, last name, and role are optional. The role list is loaded from your DoiT account.
  • Change DoiT user role - finds the user by email and changes their role.
  • Delete DoiT user - finds the user by email and removes them from DoiT. If the user no longer exists in DoiT, the action is treated as already completed.

Actions require the API token's role to include the Users Manager permission.

Q&A

Q: What should I enter in the "Account Name" field?

A: The Account Name field lets you connect multiple DoiT accounts to Torii. The value can be anything you choose. It is only used to distinguish between your connected accounts. Make sure to use a unique Account Name for each account: connecting a different account with an Account Name that is already in use will overwrite the existing account's data, so choosing distinct names is your responsibility.
