Overview

Torii integrates with GitBook and syncs:

  • Organization members, including their role, status, and last activity.
  • One paid GitBook license, assigned to every organization member.
  • You can constantly stay updated with application information from our Integrations Page >> Integration Capabilities button >> Integration Capabilities table.

Requirements

To connect this integration, we require the following:

Accounts & Permissions

  • A GitBook organization. API access is included in every GitBook plan. The Free plan allows only one user, so inviting members needs a paid plan, and the Review and Comment roles are not available on the Free plan.
  • A personal access token created by a user with the Admin role in the organization. The token has the same access as the user who created it, and managing members is limited to organization admins.

Required keys

  • API Token - a GitBook personal access token.
  • Organization ID - the ID of your GitBook organization.

How to Generate the Required Values

Step 1: Create a personal access token

  1. Sign in to GitBook as an organization Admin.
  2. Open the Developer settings of your user account: https://app.gitbook.com/account/developer.
  3. Create a new personal access token and give it a name, for example Torii.
  4. Copy the token.

Important
Copy the token and store it safely. You can view and manage your access tokens in the Developer settings of your GitBook user account.

Step 2: Find your Organization ID

  1. Open your organization in GitBook.
  2. Copy the ID from the page address: https://app.gitbook.com/o/<organization_id>/.... Alternatively, select Copy org ID in the organization settings.

How to Connect the Integration

  1. Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
  2. Search for GitBook and click Connect.
  3. Enter the API Token and the Organization ID.
  4. Click Connect.

Actions

  • Invite GitBook user - invites a user to your GitBook organization by email with the selected role (Admin, Create, Edit, Review, Comment, or Read).
  • Update GitBook user - changes the role of an existing organization member.
  • Delete GitBook user - removes a member from your GitBook organization.
