Overview

Torii integrates with Pinecone and syncs:

  • Organization members, including their organization role.
  • Licenses: Pinecone is billed by usage rather than per seat, so all members are shown under a single default Pinecone license.
  • You can constantly stay updated with application information from our Integrations Page >> Integration Capabilities button >> Integration Capabilities table.

Requirements

To connect this integration, we require the following:

Accounts & Permissions

  • A Pinecone organization on the Enterprise plan (service accounts are only available on this plan).
  • Access as a Pinecone Organization owner, to create the service account.
  • The service account must have the Organization owner role. This role is required for the Invite and Remove user actions and is recommended for syncing users.

Required keys

  • Service account Client ID
  • Service account Client Secret

How to Generate the Required Values

Step 1: Create a service account

  1. Sign in to Pinecone as an Organization owner.
  2. Go to Settings >> Access >> Service accounts.
  3. Enter a Name for the service account (for example, Torii).
  4. Under Organization role, select Organization owner.
  5. Click Create.

Step 2: Copy the credentials

  1. Copy the Client secret and save it in a secure place.
  2. Copy the service account Client ID.
  3. Click Copy and Continue.

Important
The Client secret is shown only once. You cannot view it again after you close the dialog, so copy it before continuing.

How to Connect the Integration

  1. Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
  2. Search for Pinecone and click Connect.
  3. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret.
  4. Click Connect.

Actions

  • Invite Pinecone user - sends an invitation to join your Pinecone organization with the organization role you choose (Member, Manager, Billing admin, or Owner). The user appears in Torii after they accept the invitation and the next sync runs.
  • Remove Pinecone user - removes a user from your Pinecone organization and revokes their roles. The user's Pinecone account itself is not deleted.

Both actions require the service account to have the Organization owner role.
