Requirements
Accounts & Permissions
To connect this integration, we require the following:
- A HackerRank for Work Enterprise plan. API access is available only on the Enterprise plan. Starter, Pro and free trial accounts do not have the API page.
- An API token generated by a Company Admin user. The token inherits the rights of the user who creates it, so a Company Admin token is required to see all users and to run actions.

How to Generate the Required Values
Step 1: Generate an API token
- Log in to HackerRank for Work as a Company Admin user.
- Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- In the left panel, select API under the User section. If you don't see API, your plan doesn't include API access.
- Click New Token.
- Enter a label for the token (for example, Torii) and click Generate Token.
- Click Copy and close to copy your token.
Important
The token appears only once. You cannot view it again after you close the dialog, so copy it before you continue.
How to Connect the Integration
- Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
- Search for HackerRank and click Connect.
- Enter the API Key you copied.
- Click Connect.
Actions
- Create User - creates a HackerRank user with a role (Recruiter, Developer or Interviewer) in a single selected team.
- Update User - updates a user's first name, last name or role. Only the fields you provide are changed.
- Lock User - locks the user and removes them from all teams. HackerRank has no option to permanently delete a user.
- Changing a user's role with Update User resets that user's content permissions in HackerRank.
Q&A
Q: What should I enter in the "Account Name" field?
A: The Account Name field lets you connect multiple HackerRank accounts to Torii. The value can be anything you choose. It is only used to distinguish between your connected accounts. Make sure to use a unique Account Name for each account: connecting a different account with an Account Name that is already in use will overwrite the existing account's data, so choosing distinct names is your responsibility.
