Overview

Torii integrates with Posit Cloud and syncs:

• Users: members of the Posit Cloud spaces that the credentials can access.
• Licenses: one Posit Cloud license for each synced member.
• You can constantly stay updated with application information from our Integrations Page >> Integration Capabilities button >> Integration Capabilities table.

Accounts & Permissions

• A Posit Cloud account on any plan, including Free. Every plan can create API credentials (OAuth client credentials).
• The user who owns the credentials must be an Admin of every space you want Torii to sync. Posit Cloud only allows space admins to view a space's member list, so members of spaces where the user is not an admin are not synced.

How to Generate the Required Values

Follow these steps to generate the required values:

Step 1: Create the credentials in Posit Cloud

1. Sign in to Posit Cloud with the user that is an Admin of the spaces you want to sync.
2. Click your name in the top right corner, then select Credentials. The Posit User Settings page opens in a new tab.
3. Click New Credentials.
4. Enter a Name (for example, Torii), select Posit Cloud/shinyapps.io under Use with, and click OK.
5. Copy the Client ID (the RSCLOUD_CLIENT_ID value) and the Client Secret (the RSCLOUD_CLIENT_SECRET value).

How to Connect the Integration

1. Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
2. Search for Posit Cloud and click Connect.
3. Enter the Account Name, Client ID and Client Secret.
4. Click Connect.

Invite Posit Cloud member to a space

Invites a user by email to a Posit Cloud space and sends them an invitation email. Choose the space and the role to assign (Admin, Moderator, Contributor or Viewer). The credentials' user must be an Admin of the selected space.

Q&A

Q: What should I enter in the "Account Name" field?

A: The Account Name field lets you connect multiple Posit Cloud accounts to Torii. The value can be anything you choose. It is only used to distinguish between your connected accounts. Make sure to use a unique Account Name for each account: connecting a different account with an Account Name that is already in use will overwrite the existing account's data, so choosing distinct names is your responsibility.

Q: Which users does Torii sync?

A: Torii syncs the members of the spaces the credentials can access, and only spaces where the credentials' user is an Admin return their members. Account members who do not belong to any space are not synced. Pending invitations are not synced until the invitee accepts and joins the space.
