Torii integrates with Happy Scribe and syncs the members of your Happy Scribe workspace, including their roles and licenses.

Requirements

Accounts & Permissions

• A Happy Scribe account on any plan. API access is included on every plan, including the free tier.
• The user whose API key you use must be an owner or admin of the Happy Scribe workspace you want to connect. Any member can list the workspace members, but owner or admin permissions are required for Torii workflow actions that add, re-role or remove members.

Required keys

• Your Happy Scribe personal API key.
• Your Happy Scribe Organization ID — the numeric ID of the workspace you want Torii to sync.

How to Generate the Required Values

1. Log in to Happy Scribe.
2. Open your Account page.
3. Copy your API key.
4. On the same Account page, copy your Organization ID. This is the numeric ID of your workspace, for example 24835018.

If your Account page does not show the Organization ID, you can also look it up with your API key. Run this command, replacing YOUR_API_KEY with the key you just copied:

The response lists your workspaces. The id value is the Organization ID, for example {"organizations":[{"id":24835018,"name":"My Workspace"}]}.

How to Connect the Integration

1. Go to the Integrations page in Torii.
2. Search for Happy Scribe and click Connect.
3. Enter your Happy Scribe API key.
4. Enter your Happy Scribe Organization ID.
5. Click Connect. Torii syncs the members of the workspace whose Organization ID you entered.

Actions

Happy Scribe supports the following workflow actions:

• Invite Happy Scribe user – adds a person to the connected Happy Scribe workspace. You choose the role.
• Update Happy Scribe user – changes an existing member’s role.
• Remove Happy Scribe user – removes a member from the workspace.

Happy Scribe only allows the Member and Admin roles to be set through its API. The workspace owner’s role cannot be changed and the owner cannot be removed.

Q&A

Q: I invited someone but they are not showing up in Torii. Why?

A: If the email address was not already registered with Happy Scribe, Happy Scribe sends them an invitation instead of adding them straight away. Invited people do not appear in the Happy Scribe member list, and therefore not in Torii, until they accept the invitation and create their account.

Q: Why did an invite fail with a message about my plan?

A: Some roles are not available on every Happy Scribe plan. On a free workspace, adding a Member is rejected because free workspaces do not include Member seats. Choose a role your plan supports, or upgrade the Happy Scribe plan.

Q: Which Happy Scribe workspace does Torii sync?

A: Torii syncs the workspace whose Organization ID you entered when connecting. To sync more than one workspace, connect Happy Scribe again with that other workspace’s Organization ID and an API key belonging to one of its owners or admins.
