Overview

Torii integrates with your Tableau installation and syncs:

• Users: list, roles, status, last login date
• Licenses

Note, Torii can support multiple accounts

Prerequisites for Tableau Online

To connect Tableau Online to Torii, you will be required to provide Torii:

• Tableau Server Address - Copy only the name (Tableau article)

  

• Tableau Site Name - Copy only the part that comes after /site/

To connect Tableau Online to Torii, you will be required to provide Torii:

• Tableau Server Address - Copy the http:// + your server name as seen below (Tableau article)

  

• Tableau Site Name - Copy only the part that comes after /site/

  

Connect Tableau integration to Torii

1. Go to the Integrations page and select the Tableau tile
2. Click Connect to Tableau
3. In Connect Tableau box >> Product, select the connection type: Tableau online / Tableau Server.
4. Enter the Tableau Server Address (Online or Server from the previous steps)
5. Enter the Tableau Site Name
6. Select a preferred Authentication Method

   • Username and Password - Add Username / Email & Password

     

   • Personal Access Token - Enter the Personal Token name & the Token secret

     
7. Click Connect
8. Once the integration is connected and synced, it will display a green checkbox.

Get a token name and secret from Tableau

1. From the Tableau site, go to My Account Settings
2. Scroll down to Personal Access Tokens and give your token a name
3. Click on Create new token

4. Copy the token secret

   

   Return up

Note about SAML

The Tableau API does not support SAML. From their documentation:

Please use the TableauID credentials if you have Tableau configured to use SAML.

Q&A

Q: I am unable to connect the integration. What should I do?
A: Please follow the following steps:

• First, please make sure that you are copying the correct Tableau Server Address. Some customers' server address begins with http://, while for others it begins with https://. 
• Then, please make sure you are copying the correct Tableau Site Name - and that you are indeed copying only the relevant part of the URL for this.
• Last, please make sure that you've entered the correct login credentials.
