Current Users, Past Users and External Users Definition

Overview

Torii users belong to one of the following groups:
  1. Current Users
  2. Past Users
  3. External Users

1. Current Users

2. Past Users

  • Users are shown as "Past Users" when they are originally found on IdP or HRMS app defined as user lifecycle source of truth, and then removed from them or changed their status in the app. Read more about current and past user definitions here.
  • You can see all "Past Users" in the Users Section - https://app.toriihq.com/team/users/past.

3. External Users

  • Users are shown as "External Users" when their email domain is not matching your account's domains. Domains can be added by contacting the support team.
  • Editing an external user's display name
    • You can edit the display name on the external system, and Torii will sync that information
    • An external user created using an email workflow cannot be edited
    • You can see all "External Users" in the Users Section - https://app.toriihq.com/team/users/external.mceclip0.png

How to define user lifecycle settings in Torii

By default, Torii relies on user status in Google Workspace (G Suite) or Azure Active Directory. Whenever a user who was previously active becomes inactive or is removed from all of the two IdPs above, Torii marks him as a past user.

User status was changed to disabled, or user is no longer found in the app

Google Workspace (G Suite)

User status was changed to suspended , or user was archived

JumpCloud

User status was changed from active to any other status, or user is no longer found in the app

Okta

When an Okta admin deactivates a user, that user’s status changes to Deprovisioned.

OneLogin

User is no longer found in the app

BambooHR

User status was changed from active to any other status starting from the supplied effective date, or user is no longer found in the app

Hibob

User status was changed to terminated or garden leave, or user is no longer found in the app

Sailpoint

User status was changed to Terminated, or user is no longer found in the app

Namely

User status was changed to inactive, or user is no longer found in the app

Workday

User status was changed to inactive, or user is no longer found in the app

ADP

User status was changed from active to any other status, or user is no longer found in the app

Paylocity

If the user status isTerminated, and the termination date is passed

Personio

User status was changed fromactivetoterminated, or the user is no longer found in the app
