How to Start Employee Offboarding Automatically?

You can use a Torii workflow to automatically initiate an employee offboarding by selecting the "Start employee offboarding" action.

Choose any of the following triggers:

1. User meets criteria.
This trigger allows you to define one or more specific conditions that must be met to start offboarding. For example, offboarding can be triggered when a user in BambooHR is marked as terminated, and the termination date is more than one day ago.
Use this trigger when you want to be very precise, or when offboarding requires coordination across multiple systems.

2. User left.
This trigger will rely on your user lifecycle source of truth configuration. Whenever an employee is marked as inactive in your user source of truth, the workflow will trigger.

3. App event.

This trigger relies on real-time updates from Google Workspace, Okta and BambooHR.

Use this trigger to automate urgent offboardings in case of layoffs or unexpected employee terminations. Note that we support a limited set of platforms and events. If your organization uses a different platform or event as an offboarding source of truth, consider using User meets criteria trigger or trigger offboarding manually.

Once the trigger is set up, add the action "Start employee offboarding."

When the workflow is triggered, the employee will be offboarded from every single app they ever used, according to app configurations defined in the Offboarding settings.
