Question/Issue:

How is an app with no users discovered?

Resolution:

An app can have no users:

  • If it was picked up from an expense
  • Discovered from an OAuth source and the users were revoked access at some point
  • All users were offboarded
    • The logic:
While a user may have already been offboarded, there’s a chance that the user still has an account in the Application.
This is the reason Torii also highlights apps by offboarded users, to help customers protect their SaaS stack and company data.
  • Or the app was manually added
  • Or the source integration was disconnected (for example Google Workspace). When disconnecting Google Workspace integration Torii deletes all the related user's data, therefore old users for a specific app might be missing, or no users are shown in the "All Users" view.

Variations:

  • Can an app with no users be discovered by Torii?
  • Why an Offboarded user was discovered by Torii?
  • Can an app be discovered for offboarded/suspended users?
