Deploy the Torii Browser Extension in Firefox using Microsoft Intune (Windows)

Learn about rolling Torii's Browser extension in Firefox using Microsoft Intune (Windows).

Deploy

You will need the Firefox ADM/ADMX templates before you can configure the Torii Browser extension. 

  1. Download the appropriate Firefox ADMX Templates from https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/releases
    Download both the Policy and Update Templates
    Unzip both downloads. We will need 4 files to deploy the extension
    1. firefox.admx
    2. mozilla.admx
    3. firefox.adml
    4. mozilla.adml

  1. Log into the Microsoft Intune Admin Center
  2. Go to Devices >> Manage Devices >> Configuration
  3. Under Import ADMX >> Import
  4. Add the “mozilla.admx” and “mozilla.adml” files respectively >> Next >> Create
  5. Add the “firefox.admx” and “firefox.adml” files respectively >> Next >> Create
  6. Please make sure that all uploads are successful before proceeding:
  7. Click back to “Policies” >> Create >> New Policy
  8. Select “Windows 10 and later” for Platform
  9. Select “Templates” for Profile Type
  10. Select “Imported Administrative templates (Preview)”
  11. Click Create
  12. Provide a Name (ie. Torii - Firefox)
  13. Click Next
  14. Expand Mozilla >> Firefox >> Extensions >> Extensions to Install

  1. Select Enabled
  2. Add
    https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/torii-static/extensions/firefox/torii_firefox_1.0.161.xpi
  1. Click OK
  2. Select “Prevent extensions from being disabled”
  3. Check Enabled
  4. Enter {e3be5efb-6c4f-431b-9919-98e09540fb05}
  5. Click OK
  6. Click Next
  7. Click Next for Scope
  8. Add the correct assignment groups (or All Devices)
  9. Click Next
  10. Click Create

Note: It can take a few hours for Intune to deploy the configuration down to the device. Once deployed you will see:
